Who we are

Dipaliya is a collaboration between 3 organizations:
1 - a women's cooperative in Ghana that makes artisanal Shea butter in its own center: www.dipaliya.com
2 - An ANBI foundation in the Netherlands that is committed to sustainable trade as an instrument for poverty reduction and nature restoration: www.dipaliya.nl
3 - A Community Investment Fund in Ghana with a multi-year program to build a healthy local economy around organic farming

We have developed our own trading model which we call Return on Extraction (RoE). It has 3 pillars:

1: Pay people at the beginning of the value chain an income above poverty.
The foundation therefore pays the women of the cooperative $2 net per day. That is about 10 times as much as what they receive from other buyers.
2: Redistribute money earned in the supply chain more equally across the value chain. Profit from sales of Dipaliya Raw is released by the foundation, after deduction of costs incurred and payment to the women, for projects of the communities in Ghana.
3: Invest in a healthy basis for a sustainable trade chain. Working with small-scale farmers in rural areas, the fund invests in healthy nature and organic agriculture as a basis for a flourishing local economy

Together we create a value chain that gives back to people and the Earth.
